That Great Street - South Temple

The National Academies of Emergency Dispatch, 139 E. South Temple, resides on one of the 10 Greatest Streets in America, at least according to the American Planning Association (APA). The street, South Temple, made the APA's Top 10 list because of its unique characteristics that exemplify "character, quality, and planning." Among the fine attributes are the historic homes, diverse land uses, and the community's efforts to preserve the route that borders downtown Salt Lake City and winds its way up to the University of Utah. APA celebrates the first 10 Great Streets and 10 Great Neighborhoods designated through its new national program, Great Places in America. Launched last spring, Great Places in America are selected annually and represent the gold standard of communities, according to information available from the APA Web site.
